The Animal Litigation Network consists of a large number of NGOs in Europe who share the concern that enforcement of animal legislation is not adequate and that strategic litigation is an underused tool to realise better animal welfare.
Campaigners and lawyers are increasingly recognising this, using legal strategies beyond legislation to achieve animal welfare objectives.
Given the high amount of animals in intensive farming, their suffering, their lack of visibility and voice, and the insufficient legal protection, our first focus is on driving systemic change for these animals whilst creating the largest impact.
Stichting Animal Litigation Network is registered as a non profit foundation in the Netherlands. The foundation is governed by a Board.
Board members do not receive any remuneration for their duties. They are only entitled to reimbursement of actual expenses incurred and, where applicable, non-excessive attendance fees, in accordance with the applicable ANBI regulations.
The foundation may engage employees or external experts to carry out its activities. Any remuneration paid shall be reasonable and proportionate to the services rendered.
